Chilton Mill Brewing Celebrates 4 Years In Long Valley

LONG VALLEY, NJ — Long Valley's Chilton Mill Brewing is celebrating the four-year anniversary of its local brewery with a new summer-inspired fruity brew.

The beloved brewery first opened in Long Valley in the late spring of 2019 and quickly made itself known around Morris County and New Jersey.

Shortly after opening, the brewery won the People's Choice Award at the Big Brew Beer Festival in Morristown, and the awards have not stopped.

Most recently, the brewery won a silver medal at the 2023 Best in Craft Beer Awards, an international beer competition held in Bend, Oregon.

Chilton Mill has also been named the 12th-best brewery in the state of New Jersey for 2022 by Brewery Star.

The award-winning brewery in Long Valley, located at 59 E. Mill Road, was recognized for its Schwarzbier (Black Lager), a 5.6 percent ABV German-style dark lager, according to Mike Peachey, owner and brewer at Chilton Mill Brewing.

To commemorate their fourth anniversary, the brewery hosted a summer party on June 3 and 4, where they served their newest brew, "Sex on the Beach." The Chilton Mill Brewing team created the brew to help drinkers get into the summer spirit.

"Cranberry, orange and peach make this cute cocktail-inspired sour super sexy," officials said.

Chilton Mill Brewing is a 3.5-barrel craft brewery and taproom owned and operated by brewers that currently offer samples, full pours and 32oz. Crowler cans to-go, according to the brewery website.

"Thank you so much to all of our friends, family and loyal patrons for continuing to support us as we take this ride together. We truly cannot wait to see what is in store for us down the road," officials said.

Over the years, Chilton Mill Brewing has woven itself into the community, even collaborating with other staple businesses in the community. This past January, the Coffee Potter and Chilton Mill Brewing teamed up once again to produce "Cocoa Coffee Porter."

According to Peachey, the idea for the seasonal porter came to both business owners organically because they had become quite close in the business community very early on.

"When my wife Lauren and I were looking to open a business in Long Valley, we stopped in to talk to Dave and Geralyn over at the Coffee Potter for some advice. We developed a solid relationship with them right off the bat and knew that they would be excellent people to collaborate with."

"Craft beer and coffee go hand in hand, and we aim to continue collaborating with them on even more new and exciting styles of beer," Peachey said.
