Officials were on scene for about two hours. Joe Dolezal, battalion chief for the Mitchell Fire Department, said a nearby property owner was burning in a burn barrel when it tipped over causing the blaze. No injuries were reported.
There was no damage to any nearby residences, but Dolezal said a shed that held a boat was a complete loss. Some older classic cars were also a loss.
This was the second grass fire the Mitchell Fire Department reported to in two days after knocking down a blaze at Wild Oak Golf Course on Tuesday.
