Mill Town Players, a performing arts company based in Pelzer, has parted ways with the Simpsonville Arts Center, the city of Simpsonville announced June 6.
Following a vote by Mill Town Players’ board on June 5, the theatrical group cited financial constraints as its decision to terminate its lease with the Simpsonville Arts Center and cancel its two remaining shows at the venue.
"The Simpsonville Arts Center appreciates and recognizes the important role that Mill Town Players played in the Arts Center's inaugural year," said Arts Center Manager Melissa Sturgis said. "While we are saddened by the departure of Mill Town Players, the Arts Center is excited about the future and exploring opportunities to ensure the continued success of Arts Center programming. The Arts Center and City wish Mill Town Players much success in its future."
Mill Town Players will continue to hold performances at the Pelzer Auditorium. Simpsonville ticket holders may contact the performing arts company with any questions via email at [email protected].
