Suffolk Show 2023 welcomes huge influx of new food names

Jun 04, 2023Jun 04, 2023

This year's Suffolk Show is set to see a "huge" influx of new and returning food and drink names as the event showcases the region's best produce.

Organisers say they are "thrilled" as newcomers to the show - including Two Magpies Bakery - make an appearance.

Artisan producers will be highlighting the importance of food production to county life at the event, which takes place at Trinity Park, Ipswich, on Wednesday, May 31, and Thursday, June 1.

Among them will be more than 78 retailers which will be filling the Adnams Food and Drink Experience zone as brands return following a tough time for independent businesses.

Among the highlights will be table sauces from Scarlett and Mustard, drinks from Solsueño Sangria and Sunfire Spirits, sweet treats from Yum Yum Tree Fudge and Tosier Chocolate, or savoury treats from The Cheese and Pie Man or Hoskyn's Deli.

Two Magpies Bakery is among many local names making their debut appearance at the show. It will have its own dedicated tepee tent with picnic benches for customers to enjoy a freshly-baked treat.

Some of East Anglia's finest chefs will be demonstrating recipes live in the Cookery Theatre, sponsored by the Suffolk Agricultural Association, Adnams, ICE and Neff Kitchens.

This year's chef line-up includes Stuart Oliver from Milsoms Kesgrave Hall, Rob Mace from The Crown Hotel in Southwold, Myles Craven from The Butt and Oyster at Pin Mill, and demonstrations from Stokes Sauces and Hill Farm Oils.

Free cookery workshops will be available for children with Fun Kitchen.

Elsewhere, global food and flavours include Crepe De Paris, Churromania, The Rickshaw Club Indian Street Food, The Wrap Bar and Greek Souvlaki.

Show director John Taylor said: "We are honoured to welcome such a wide selection of food and drink retailers at this year's Show, there is sure to be something to suit every taste.

"Events like the Suffolk Show offer people a special opportunity to connect with local farmers, makers and bakers face-to-face, to reduce their food miles, and to show their support to the fabulous range of independent producers right here on our doorstep."

The show is organised by farm charity Suffolk Agricultural Association. Under 15s go free and parking is also free.
