'Suspicious death' at Water Mill spa prompts investigation, authorities say - Newsday

Police are investigating a "suspicious death" at an East End spa and wellness hotel, authorities said Monday.

About 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Southampton police officers responded to the Shou Sugi Ban House in Water Mill, Southampton police said in a news release. The department added there will be "an ongoing police presence in the area during the investigation."

The death "appears to be an isolated incident," police said, adding that there is "no immediate danger to the public at this time."

A spokesperson for the Suffolk County Police Department confirmed Suffolk police are investigating but could not immediately comment on the nature of the death or the identity of the victim. Police ask anyone with information to call the Suffolk County Police Homicide Division at 631-852-6396.
