Taylor Swift Snapchat Filter Reminds Fans to Vote for Kamala Harris

Taylor Swift is back on tour this weekend, and Kamala Harris‘ allies are capitalizing on the occasion to remind her fans to vote.

The Democratic National Committee has bought up Swift-themed Snapchat filters. They allow users in the swing states to declare they are “fearless” for one of several Harris campaign themes (including “reproductive rights,” “democracy,” “climate action” and “student loan debt relief.”)

Swift is probably Harris’ highest profile endorser in the entertainment world. But as far as anyone knows, she has no plans to visit any campaign battlegrounds in the next 18 days.

So instead, the campaign will come to her. Swift has three concerts this weekend at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

Though Florida is not in play, the DNC is still paying for billboards around Miami, as well as a mobile billboard on a boat near the stadium, all with a Swift tie-in:

The aim is to remind Swifties to register to vote and make a plan to cast their ballots.

Swift has not been coordinating with the Harris campaign, which was caught by surprise by the singer’s endorsement immediately after her sole debate with Donald Trump on Sept. 10.

But the Democrats are doing what they can to leverage her support into votes.

The Harris campaign has worked with Swifties for Harris, a self-organized Zoom-based affinity group, to rally support. The DNC has previously bought billboards in Las Vegas and Times Square in New York to announce a “Kamala Era.”

The Snapchat filter is the latest get-out-the-vote tool, urging users to share their support for both Swift and Harris among friends:

“This election will determine the future for young voters, from student loan debt relief and economic opportunity to whether they have fewer rights than their grandmothers did,” said Rosemary Boeglin, DNC communications director. “Democrats are reaching out to young voters where they are, from concert venues to social media platforms, to make sure they have the resources they need to cast their ballot.”

After Miami, Swift will have concerts at the Superdome in New Orleans and Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

The Harris campaign has been promoting a “get out the vote” concert. Musical guests remain unannounced, but the candidate’s supporters include Bruce Springsteen, Olivia Rodrigo, Charli XCX and Billie Eilish, among many others.
